Exploring a desolate, prairie-like landscape on our journey up north to Whangarei, leaving behind our temporary home in urban Auckland. While the wind ceaselessly blows the drizzling rain into our faces, we march across the barren fields of discoloured grass towards the distant, dreary woods.
Discovering a feeling of sober, almost peaceful thoughtfulness arising within us; a gloomy state of mind that surprisingly offers comfort and tranquility, rather than sadness or sorrow. New places of temporary residence, which we will call home, lie ahead with a multitude of unknown adventures.
